Great article, thanks of the information. However, I would like to make note that I own the HP pavilion 15 gaming laptop and it comes with a usb c 3.1 1st gen data only port. Unfortunate but does not support video through the usb c port.

have one doubt though, in your article, does the total number of supported displays include the laptop screen itself ?
For example you said that the Dell XPS 13 7390 can connect up to three displays simultaneously, so including the laptop display will that be 4 working displays ? of it will be limited to showing simultaneously on only 3 displays…
